What Crossworded does

Crossworded builds personalized crossword puzzles around the interests you choose. You can solve them online, print them, download a PDF, or have them emailed to you or to someone else on a schedule you pick.

Your free puzzle and your account

You can make one puzzle without an account. After that you need an account, and building more puzzles requires a purchase or a subscription. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — you are responsible for what happens on your account.

Purchases and subscriptions

• One-off puzzles are charged when you buy them and give you a credit to build one puzzle.
• Subscriptions let you choose how many days a week a puzzle is sent. The price depends on the number of days you pick and is billed monthly until you cancel.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay and are in US dollars.
• You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account. Your puzzles keep arriving until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not give partial refunds for unused days, but if something went wrong on our side, get in touch and we will make it right.
• We may change prices in the future. Existing subscriptions get notice by email before any change takes effect.

Puzzle links and privacy

Each puzzle has its own hard-to-guess link so the person you send it to can play without signing in. Anyone with that link can open the puzzle, so share it with care. Only you can see the profiles and the list of puzzles in your account.

Fair use

Please do not:

• Use puzzle profiles, notes or recipient emails to harass, threaten, deceive or embarrass anyone.
• Send puzzles to people who have not agreed to hear from you.
• Enter content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Try to break, overload, scrape or work around limits in the service, including creating accounts to avoid paying.

We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules, or that abuse the free puzzle.

Who owns what

You keep ownership of what you enter: names, interests and personal notes. You give us permission to use them to build and deliver your puzzles. The puzzles we generate are yours to solve, print and share with friends and family. The Crossworded name, look and software stay ours, and you may not resell puzzles or republish them commercially without our permission.

Clues are written by software

Clues and hints are generated automatically, so an occasional clue may be awkward or plain wrong. We work hard on quality, but we cannot promise every clue is perfect or factually accurate.

Availability and liability

We aim to keep Crossworded running and puzzles arriving on time, but the service is provided as is, without warranties. We are not responsible for indirect or incidental losses. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months.

Ending your account

You can stop using Crossworded and delete your account whenever you like. We may end or suspend access if these terms are broken, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we will give notice and not bill you again.
